Wall, a lawyer who served in the War of 1812, then later as the state’s quartermaster general before becoming a U.S. senator.

Portions of the original Wall Township have been taken over the years to form North Spring Lake, Manasquan, Spring Lake and Sea Girt, in addition to other communities. In the early 1980s Wall Township gained direct access to Trenton with the extension of I-195 into the area. Brick Township Reservoir is a popular local spot for fishing.
