Sea Girt, NJ
Sea Girt is a borough located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, along the Atlantic Coast north of Manasquan between Stockton Lake and Wreck Pond. Sea Girt covers just over one square mile of land, home to a population of fewer than 1,800 people.
Incorporated in 1917 and named for U.S. Navy Commodore Robert Field Stockton, Sea Girt has earned the motto, “Where the Cedars Meet the Sea.” It’s the location of the Sea Girt Light, a lighthouse marking the inlet to Wreck Pond since 1896, one of only 20 lighthouses in the state that still operate. The National Guard Museum of New Jersey is headquartered in Sea Girt as well. The Parker House is a popular historic tavern in Sea Girt that was converted from a Victorian beach home.
